What we offer

Young Addaction Liverpool provides a service to young people in Liverpool aged between 10 and 19 and an additional needs service for young people between the ages of 20 and 24. We can help young people to get healthy by making better lifestyle choices and support them towards their future goals.  The service is free, confidential and non-judgemental and works with young people whatever their substance issues are including alcohol.

We run from 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday, with after hours outreach (based outside the office) running on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 7:00pm - 9:30pm.

We work out in the community in schools, colleges, youth clubs, neighbourhood centres and out and about on the streets of the city. Our schools programme and our Amy Winehouse Resilience Programme support young people to build self confidence, self esteem and to learn how to make safer choices and our staff based in the Youth Offending Service support young people when their choices have led them in to the criminal justice system.

Young Addaction Liverpool has a service user involvement group where young people can have their say in how they want the service to develop.  All statutory agencies can refer young people to our service but most importantly young people themselves can self refer making the first step on their journey to a healthier life.

Volunteering opportunities

Addaction Liverpool’s volunteers support our work providing services to young people and adults in the Merseyside area who are adversely affected by both alcohol and drugs. Young Addaction Liverpool runs a volunteer programme with two intakes per year that provide placements with all Addaction Substance Misuse services in Liverpool and several outside placement opportunities such as sexual health providers, hostels, local youth clubs and street based programmes.

Whether you wish to try a new career path, have been through substance misuse treatment yourself or have always wanted to volunteer in this field then volunteering with Addaction Liverpool may be for you. You will receive a structured training programme and a point of contact available throughout your voluntary placement. If you would like the opportunity to experience working within a multidiscipline team, share your own experiences or provide support to other people and families then Addaction Liverpool can provide the platform and opportunities for you. You will receive access to real opportunities supported by a structured training programme and a point of contact available throughout your volunteer placement.
