Addaction Fife - Dunfermline
Services we provide
How to find us
The service is situated in Dunfermline town centre. We are on Canmore Street above Kamil’s Kebab Shop. The entrance is to the rear of the building and has to be accessed by going through the car park opposite the Alhambra Theatre.
What we offer
Addaction Fife is a specialist harm reduction service and offers a wider range of equipment than pharmacy-based exchanges. We also provide a range of other services to help reduce drug related harm. This includes:
- One-to-one assessment, referral and support into treatment (if requested)
- Overdose prevention work including access to the Take Home Naloxone programme (THN)
- Blood borne virus testing for HIV and Hepatitis
Needle exchange staff can provide advice and information on issues related to your substance use. Simply let them know what you’re using and they’ll ensure you get the right equipment. They will also be happy to discuss your injecting practice and any concerns or questions you may have in relation to it. Some basic and anonymous details will be requested on the first visit. There will be an expectation for you to use the same information at every exchange. Addaction operates from several venues in Fife (see the Downloads section on this page) and also has a mobile outreach unit.
We also provide:
- Safer drug use advice and information
- HIV and Hepatitis testing
- Access to Naloxone
- Free condoms
- Sexual health advice and fast-track referral
- Help to stop injecting
- Access point for further treatment
The service can offer volunteer opportunities after some basis training. If you are interested in volunteering with our service, please get in touch.
