WithYou in Scotland

Wherever you are in Scotland, we are WithYou

We are proud to work in partnership with the Scottish Government, NHS Scotland, health and social care partnerships and other third sector organisations to deliver our impactful services.

We believe this is an important time for the development and delivery of drug and alcohol services in Scotland.

Where we are now

As a nation, we are embracing forward thinking approaches in order to save and improve lives.

  • in 2011 Scotland became the first country in the world to introduce a national Naloxone programme
  • in 2018 we introduced minimum unit pricing for alcohol; and this year, the UK’s first safer drugs consumption facility will open in Glasgow

WithYou in Scotland is at the forefront of this movement. As well as supporting these initiatives, we have delivered our own innovative projects, including our Intensive Pre and Post Residential Support service and our sector-leading Webchat service, which reaches many thousands of people every year.

We understand that deprivation is a factor in the use of both drugs and alcohol. According to the National Records of Scotland, people living in the most deprived areas are almost 16 times as likely to die from drug misuse, and 4.3 times more likely to die specifically because of alcohol, than those in the least deprived areas.

While many people associate deprivation with inner cities, we know that it also affects our rural communities. We are proud that our services extend far and wide - to remote areas, such as Campbeltown, Dumfries and the Isle of Bute, as well as cities, like Glasgow and Dundee.

Looking forward

We both care passionately about the health and wellbeing of people in Scotland, and we are committed to working together to grow our charity and radically improve more people’s chances of getting better.

While our nation’s difficult relationship with drugs and alcohol is incredibly complex and deep-rooted, we must always remember that, with the right support, every person can recover.

Wherever you are in Scotland, We are WithYou.
