Breaking the Cycle

1.3 million children have a parent who is a drug addict or alcoholic. For these children, drug and alcohol problems become all too familiar, and growing up in such situations means they are seven times more likely to become addicted themselves. Unlike other drug services which tend to focus on the person with the addiction, Breaking the Cycle supports the whole family.

The Breaking the Cycle pilot sites were and continue to be funded by Zurich Community Trust as part of their Social Transformation programme. The Trust has extended the partnership with Addaction and will support the expansion of ‘Breaking the Cycle’ across the UK over the next four years.
