Alcohol free month
At Addaction, we see the effects of alcohol misuse on a daily basis. But we also know that many people in the UK enjoy alcohol responsibly, and without it causing significant problems.
However, for many of us, the idea of not drinking at all is a strange one. It's an integral part of the way we live in this country, with the majority of us regularly meeting friends and socialising in bars and pubs.
But could you stop? Even if it you only did it for a short time?
"Initially, my friends thought I was mad. But I had decided that I was not going to drink for 30 days and I could enjoy going out just as much with soft drinks. To be able to do this, and raise money to help those affected by addiction, was a challenge, but one that I was completely willing to undertake"
Alcohol Free Month Participant
Lots of people want to express their support for Addaction, and for the people that we help. Some run marathons, or even parachute out of aeroplanes. But we know that's not for everyone.
An easier way to show your support could be trying to stop drinking alcohol for a month. It's a real test of willpower and a great way to raise some money. When people have done it for us before, they've written blogs about their challenge, and had friends and work colleagues support them. Some have even non-alcoholic cocktail parties and roped their friends into joining in!
If you fancy testing your willpower and raising some money, all you have to do is fill out the form below and a member of the fundraising team will be in touch to help you get the most of being on the wagon.
