For every pound you donate to Addaction, 96 pence is spent directly on providing our services. Here’s how:
91 pence is spent on community services
Our community services are there for anyone who has a problem with drugs or alcohol, including our projects designed specifically for young people.
Four pence in every pound is spent on residential services
For some of the people we work with, living somewhere where they can get round-the-clock support and help can be essential, such as at the Chy Colom project in Truro.
One pence in every pound is spent on prison services
We offer help to people in prison, as it’s often the case that their problems with drugs and alcohol are intrinsically linked to their criminal behaviour. This money also pays for our project in Manchester, which helps people released from prison to find work and training.
So, how about the remaining four pence? What do we spend that on?
Two pence in every pound is spent on administration
It pays our bills, keeps our accounts in check and keeps our services running.
One pence in every pound is spent on fundraising
We sometimes have to spend money to make money; promoting our work and events, and paying for other companies’ help when we need to.
One pence in every pound is spent on ’surplus’
Which simply means that we save money, so that we’re prepared for the future.
